Minimum spec
- 32 vCPU, 128 GiB RAM, 4 TiB NVMe (for state + archive).
- 1 Gbps uplink, static IPv4.
- UDP/TCP ports 30333 (p2p), 9944 (RPC — localhost only), 9615 (metrics — localhost only).
Why bare-metal
Consensus latency is sensitive to CPU noise and to the kernel's clock. Public-cloud validators typically miss 0.5–2 % of slots versus dedicated hardware in the same region; skipped slots compound across the whole set.
Region spread
At 50–100 validators we target:
- No single AS (autonomous system) holds > 15 % of stake.
- Every continent hosts at least 3 validators.
